Amy graduated from Shenandoah University with a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy. She has experience providing OT services to children in both school-based and outpatient pediatric clinics. She completed her clinical rotations at VA Medical Center and here at PMC. She was thrilled to come back and continue to work at an amazing facility with wonderful co-workers.
Amy is passionate about OT because it allows her apply science and creativity together to make fun and motivating OT activities for the children she works with. She loves helping children reach their greatest potential and become confident, empowered and independent. It is the greatest feeling when you see that smile on a child’s or parent’s face because they’ve accomplished an activity that they were unable to do before.
Amy’s special areas of interest in OT include Sensory Integration, vision, and the DIR/Floortime Approach. When she is not working, she enjoys researching new treatments and techniques, traveling, running, and spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking.
